History

It all started way back in the 1800s!

In 1881 Wilhelm Wendt founded the Skånska vinegar essence production in the present town Perstorp. Mr. Wendt started it all with refining beech wood into various chemicals, e.g. acetic acid and creosote.

Molding Compounds

In 1917 the production of thermosetting molding compounds began, which made Perstorp the cradle of Scandinavian plastic industry.

In the late 1930’s the production of urea molding compounds began which was complemented in the early 1940’s with the production of melamine molding compounds.

In 2001 Industri Kapital acquired Perstorp AB, and in October 2005 Raytor Holding acquired Perstorp Compounds. As a result of the transaction Perstorp Compounds changed its legal name to Raytor Compounds in 2006.
